Annunciators, Event Recorders & Signal Conditioners
Alarm annunciators, sequence-of-events recorders, lamp boxes and signal conditioners.
Annunciators give operators clear first-out alarm indication: when a trip sets off a cascade of alarms, the first one is shown differently so the cause is obvious. Sequence-of-events recorders time-stamp every change of state so faults and trips can be analysed afterwards.
Choosing equipment (Ronan)
- Window annunciators: the economical X11SN, the X11CB with built-in event recording, and the X12, which accepts analog and digital inputs in one system.
- Large systems: the X16 separates the electronics from the window display, and the X16PDM puts the logic in the rack room and the display in the control room.
- Single points and hazardous areas: the X19N self-contained alarm unit, and the explosion-proof X9EXP and X15.
- Event and fault recording: the X500F sequence-of-events recorder and the X100N fault recorder.
- Field multiplexing: the X120 collects up to 48 contacts in the field and sends them over one serial link to a DCS, plant computer or X110 annunciator.
- Lamp cabinets and indicators: LB1500, LB2100/2200, LB2448, LB3500 and LB5500 cabinets, and single-point indicators.
What to tell us
- The number of alarm points and how they are grouped
- Window size, layout, legends and lens colours
- The alarm sequence (for example ISA first-out) and audible alarms
- Input type and contact wetting voltage, and the supply voltage
- Panel cut-out and mounting, or the hazardous-area rating for field units
Every system is built to order to these details. See how the pieces fit together on alarm annunciation and event recording.
