What to replace, and when
SENSOR’s replacement guide sets out which parts to change in each of the first five years. In year 5 the whole sample valve assembly is renewed: everything except the panel, fittings and tubing.
Basic bottle systems (SENSOR BBSS and similar)
- Year 1: needles, N₂ regulator, N₂ pressure gauge
- Year 2: N₂ rotameter, temperature indicators
- Year 3: sample valve, secondary isolation valve, shroud
- Year 4: coolers, heaters, additional block valves, throttle valves
- Year 5: entire sample valve, needles and shroud
Heavy products systems (SENSOR HPSS and similar)
- Year 1: temperature indicators, replacement enclosure windows
- Year 2: steam trap, steam purge valve assembly, steam purge twist-on adaptor
- Year 3: cartridge sample valve, secondary isolation valve, steam-heated dispense tube
- Year 4: additional block valves, thermostat or steam controller
- Year 5: heater coil
Inline systems (SENSOR ISS and similar)
- Year 1: needles, N₂ regulator, N₂ pressure gauge
- Year 2: N₂ rotameter, temperature indicators, check valve
- Year 3: sample valve stem, secondary isolation valve, shroud
- Year 4: heaters
- Year 5: entire sample valve spool assembly, needles and shroud
Cylinder systems (SENSOR LGSS and VSS and similar)
- Year 1: pressure gauge
- Year 2: quick disconnects, flex hose, temperature indicators
- Year 3: sample/bypass valve, sight glass, cylinder saddles

Send us the make and model of your sampling system (from its nameplate or tag), the service it’s in and, if you can, a photo. We’ll identify the parts with SENSOR and quote them; parts are ordered from SENSOR for each system. For new systems, see all SENSOR sampling systems.
